Mini tummy tuck in Wrocław

A mini abdominoplasty is a smaller version of the tummy tuck for people whose excess skin and fat is limited to the lower abdomen, below the navel. It gives a flatter lower tummy with a shorter scar, a shorter operation and a faster return to normal life than a full abdominoplasty. At Luna Clinic in Wrocław it is performed by Dr Aleksandra Łuniewska.

About the treatment

Mini abdominoplasty - what does the procedure involve?

Mini abdominoplasty improves the contour of the lower abdomen, tightens the skin and removes local laxity. The effect is visible after just a few weeks, and the final result after about 3-6 months. The scar is hidden low, in the underwear line.

Unlike a classic tummy tuck, in mini abdominoplasty the navel is not repositioned, and suturing of the rectus muscles - if necessary - is limited to the section below the navel. We often combine the procedure with liposuction of the flanks for a better waist outline.

Indications

Indications for the procedure

Whether the procedure is advisable for you is ultimately decided by the doctor during the consultation.

  • Excess skin in the lower abdomen (below the navel)
  • Wrinkles or skin laxity after pregnancy or weight loss
  • Mild diastasis recti (separation of the rectus abdominis muscles)
  • No need to correct the upper abdomen or navel
03

Contraindications

Significant obesity or general excess skin
Unresolved umbilical-hernia problems
Plans to become pregnant in the near future
Chronic diseases, blood clotting disorders, skin infections
Unrealistic expectations regarding the results of the procedure
04
Preparation

How to prepare for the procedure?

The procedure is always preceded by a qualification consultation with a plastic surgeon - we discuss expectations, examine the area to be operated on and establish an individual treatment plan. As standard, we order a full set of tests (blood count, coagulation, electrolytes, ECG for general anaesthesia) and, if necessary, additional specialist consultations.

  • Surgical consultation, blood tests, ECG, possibly an ultrasound of the abdominal wall
  • Stopping anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant medications for 7 days
  • Stopping smoking and alcohol consumption 2 weeks before the procedure
  • Body hygiene on the day of the procedure, without creams or lotions

The mini abdominoplasty procedure step by step

1Kwalifikacjathe surgeon assesses whether the problem is limited to the lower abdomen - this is the condition for a good mini-abdominoplasty result; with a larger excess of skin they will propose a full tummy tuck.
2Anaesthesiathe procedure is performed under general anaesthesia and takes about 1.5-2 hours.
3Incision above the pubic symphysisshorter than in a full abdominoplasty, made low - the scar hides under the underwear.
4Removal of excess skin and tightening of the abdominal wallthe lower-abdomen skin is lifted, the excess excised, and if needed the lower section of the rectus muscles is sutured.
5Suturing and dressingthe wound is closed in layers with cosmetic sutures; the patient puts on a compression band worn for about 6 weeks.
06
Recovery

Recovery and post-procedure recommendations

  • Wearing a compression band for a minimum of 6 weeks
  • Avoiding exertion for 4-6 weeks
  • Return to office work possible after 7-10 days
  • Sleeping with the legs and torso slightly elevated for 2 weeks
  • No sun exposure of the scar for a minimum of 6 months
  • Check-ups: after 7-14 days (suture removal), then after 1, 3, 6 and 12 months
07

Treatment effects

The result of mini abdominoplasty is a flat, taut lower abdomen without a skin fold, with a short, low-placed scar. Return to office work is usually possible after 7-14 days, and we assess the full effect after 3-6 months.

Frequently asked questions

Does mini abdominoplasty hurt?

The procedure is performed under general anaesthesia, and we effectively control post-operative pain pharmacologically.

How long will I have to wear the compression band?

A minimum of 6 weeks - this is crucial for the correct modelling of the abdomen.

Is there a scar after the procedure?

Yes, but it is placed low - in the underwear line. Thanks to precise suturing it is usually thin and discreet.

Does this procedure remove stretch marks?

Only those located in the piece of skin being removed, below the navel.

After how long will I return to work?

To sedentary work usually after 7-10 days. Physical work - after a minimum of 4 weeks.

Is the navel repositioned?

No, the navel stays in place - this is the main difference between mini and classic abdominoplasty.

Can mini abdominoplasty be combined with liposuction?

Yes, we often combine both techniques for a better aesthetic effect.

Does the procedure affect fertility?

No, mini abdominoplasty has no effect on fertility, but it is not recommended before a planned pregnancy.

Do I have to fast on the day of the procedure?

Yes, the standard rules before general anaesthesia apply - 6 hours without food or drink.

When will I see the final result?

Swelling may persist for a few weeks; the full effect is visible after about 3-6 months.

How does mini abdominoplasty differ from a full tummy tuck?

Mini abdominoplasty covers only the lower abdomen - a shorter scar, no navel repositioning, faster recovery. A full tummy tuck corrects the whole abdominal wall including the muscle separation above the navel.

Is there a scar near the navel after mini abdominoplasty?

No - the navel remains untouched, the only scar runs low above the pubic symphysis.

Mini tummy tuck in Wrocław: how much does it cost?

Mini tummy tuck: price and consultation

A mini abdominoplasty costs from PLN 10,000 at Luna Clinic. The price depends on the amount of excess skin, the need for liposuction and whether the lower part of the muscles needs tightening. If the skin is loose above the navel too, or the rectus muscles are separated along their whole length, the surgeon will recommend a full tummy tuck (from PLN 25,000), because a mini version would not give a lasting result.
