Frequently asked questions
What does a scrotal lift involve?
The procedure consists in removing excess lax scrotal skin and tightening the tissues, recreating a natural shape. It solves the problem of discomfort, chafing and dissatisfaction with the appearance of this area.
Who is a scrotal lift for?
For men with excess and laxity of the scrotal skin - congenital, after weight loss or age-related - which causes chafing, discomfort during sports and intercourse or asymmetry.
How does the procedure proceed and what anaesthesia is used?
The lift is performed under general anaesthesia and usually takes 1-1.5 hours. Excess skin is removed through access along the scrotal raphe, which makes the scar barely visible.
Is there a visible scar after the procedure?
The incision runs along the natural median scrotal raphe, so the scar blends into the anatomy of the area and is practically imperceptible after healing.
What does recovery after a scrotal lift look like?
For 1-2 weeks a gentle lifestyle, supportive underwear and cooling of the area are recommended. Return to office work after a few days, to sports and intercourse after 4-6 weeks.
Does the procedure affect fertility or sexual function?
No - the procedure concerns only the skin and subcutaneous tissue; the testicles, vas deferens and innervation remain untouched. After healing, sexual function and sensation are preserved.
Does a scrotal lift hurt?
The operation is painless thanks to anaesthesia, and post-operative discomfort - a feeling of tension and tenderness - is well controlled by standard painkillers during the first days.
How to prepare for the procedure?
A surgical consultation, pre-operative tests and anaesthesiological qualification are required. Two weeks before the procedure, stop smoking and - after consultation - blood-thinning medications; on the day of the operation, be fasting.
When are the sutures removed?
We most often use dissolvable sutures that do not require removal. A healing check takes place 1-2 weeks after the procedure.
Is the result of a scrotal lift permanent?
Yes - the removed skin does not grow back, and the effect lasts for years. The natural ageing process continues, but the starting point is permanently improved.
Can the procedure be combined with other procedures?
Yes - it is sometimes combined with other intimate-area procedures or body contouring during a single anaesthesia. The surgeon assesses the possibilities of combining at the consultation.
What are the possible complications of the procedure?
Rare: haematoma, swelling, infection, temporary skin sensory disturbances, scar widening. The operator’s experience and following the recommendations minimise the risk.
How much does a scrotal lift cost in Wrocław?
A scrotal lift is quoted individually. The amount follows the surgical consultation (PLN 300).
