Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) in Wrocław
Rhinoplasty, often called a nose job, reshapes the bony and cartilaginous framework of the nose: it can remove a hump, narrow, shorten or straighten the nose, or change the shape of the tip. The aim is a nose in proportion to the face and, where needed, easier breathing (septorhinoplasty). At Luna Clinic in Wrocław the operation is performed by Dr Aleksandra Łuniewska.

Nose reshaping - what does the procedure involve?
Rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at changing the shape of the nose - improving its proportions, breathing function and the overall harmony of the face. At Luna Clinic we offer both a full bony-cartilaginous correction under general anaesthesia and less invasive modifications (e.g. of the nasal tip) under local anaesthesia. The procedure can correct a hump, length, width, asymmetry or drooping of the nasal tip.
Rhinoplasty is one of the most demanding operations in plastic surgery - not only technique matters, but also an aesthetic sense of proportion. At Luna Clinic we plan the procedure individually, discussing with the patient a realistic, harmonious result, not a “catalogue nose”.
Indications for the procedure
Whether the procedure is advisable for you is ultimately decided by the doctor during the consultation.
- A bony-cartilaginous nasal hump
- A drooping or overly raised nasal tip
- A wide or asymmetrical nasal bridge
- A deviated septum (with a functional component)
- Improving the results of previous operations
- A disturbance of the nose’s proportions relative to the face
Contraindications
How to prepare for the procedure?
The procedure is always preceded by a qualification consultation with a plastic surgeon - we discuss expectations, examine the area to be operated on and establish an individual treatment plan. As standard, we order a full set of tests (blood count, coagulation, electrolytes, ECG for general anaesthesia) and, if necessary, additional specialist consultations.
- Consultation with a plastic surgeon - a detailed discussion of expectations and the surgical plan
- Laboratory tests
- Stopping anticoagulant medications at least 14 days before the procedure (after consultation)
- Avoiding alcohol and cigarette smoking for at least 14 days before the operation
- On the day of the procedure - facial hygiene without make-up or creams

Recovery and post-procedure recommendations
The largest swelling and bruising around the eyes subside within 10-14 days; you can usually return to office work after the plaster is removed.
- A splint on the nose for about 7-10 days
- Bruising and swelling around the eyes are possible - they subside gradually within 2-3 weeks
- Avoiding intense physical exertion for at least 4-6 weeks
- No sunbathing or solarium for a minimum of 6 months - using high UV filters
- Check-ups: after 1, 3, 6 and 12 months
- The full effect is visible after about 6-12 months, when the deep swelling subsides
Treatment effects
The result of nose reshaping is a natural, proportional nose without a hump, narrowed and harmonising with the rest of the face - and, with septum correction, also free breathing. The initial shape is visible after the plaster is removed; the final effect, after the swelling has fully subsided, is assessed after 12 months.
The aim is a natural-looking nose, matched to the individual proportions of the face. The effect is permanent and allows not only an improvement of aesthetics but also - if necessary - of breathing function. The result depends on tissue quality and proper healing.

AfterPossible complications and risks
Like any surgical procedure, this one also carries a certain risk. It is reduced by careful qualification before the procedure and by following the aftercare recommendations. Possible complications include:
- Haematoma, post-operative bleeding
- Infection
- Swelling persisting for several weeks or months
- Nasal asymmetry or an unsatisfactory aesthetic result
- A scar on the columella (in the open technique) - usually thin and barely visible
- Permanent sensory disturbances of the nasal skin
- The need for re-operation
Frequently asked questions
Is the procedure painful?
It is performed under general anaesthesia - the patient feels no pain.
Will I have scars?
With the open technique a thin scar remains on the columella, usually barely visible.
How long do I wear the splint?
About 7-10 days after the procedure.
When can I return to work?
Office work: after 10-14 days.
How long does the swelling last?
The largest subsides in 2-3 weeks, deep swelling subsides within 6-12 months
Can nose reshaping be combined with other procedures?
Yes - e.g. with eyelid surgery or a facelift.
Does the procedure affect breathing?
It can improve nasal function, especially with septum correction.
When can I go home after rhinoplasty?
The doctor decides once they have assessed your condition after the operation. One thing is certain: after general anaesthesia you must not drive, so come with someone who can take you home.
Is the procedure for men and women?
Yes - we plan the result individually according to gender and facial features.
Does rhinoplasty also improve breathing?
Yes - if the cause of obstruction is a deviated septum or collapsing nasal wings, we correct them at the same time (septorhinoplasty).
When will the swelling disappear after nose surgery?
80% of the swelling subsides in the first 4-6 weeks, but the nasal tip reaches its final shape after up to 12 months - this is a normal course of healing.
Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) in Wrocław: how much does it cost?
Our price list starts at PLN 25,000 for nose reshaping. The final price depends on the extent (shape, septum, cartilage graft, revision) and is set after the surgical consultation (PLN 300).
Is it covered by the NFZ (Polish public health insurance)?
Luna Clinic treats patients privately. Under the NFZ (Polish public health insurance) nose operations are funded only for medical reasons, such as a deviated septum that blocks breathing, usually in ENT departments. Cosmetic rhinoplasty is not covered.

Rhinoplasty (nose reshaping): price and consultation
Nose reshaping costs from PLN 25,000 at Luna Clinic. The biggest factor is the extent of surgery: shape only, or the septum and breathing as well; whether a cartilage graft is needed; and whether this is a first operation or a revision. If only the tip needs correcting, a nasal tip correction (from PLN 7,000) is usually enough.
