Lipofilling is the transfer of one’s own fat tissue: the fat is harvested by gentle liposuction (e.g. from the abdomen or thighs), purified and administered to areas requiring volume - the face, hands or selected areas of the body.
How does lipofilling differ from hyaluronic acid?
It uses the patient’s own tissue, so there is no risk of allergy, and the fat that takes remains permanently. Hyaluronic acid is a ready-made product that is absorbed after 12-18 months.
Is the effect of lipofilling permanent?
Yes - the fat cells that take (usually 50-70%) remain permanently. For this reason a second stage is sometimes planned to complete the effect after 3-6 months.
How does the lipofilling procedure proceed?
We perform the treatment under local anaesthesia, possibly with sedation: harvesting the fat, preparing it in a closed system and administering it with a cannula to the recipient areas. The whole procedure usually takes 1-2 hours.
Does lipofilling hurt?
Thanks to the anaesthesia, the treatment itself is painless. After the treatment the donor and recipient areas may be tender and swollen for several to a dozen days; the discomfort responds well to standard painkillers.
How long does recovery after lipofilling take?

When is the final effect of the treatment visible?
After the swelling subsides and the graft stabilises, i.e. after about 3 months. The earlier, slightly larger volume is a normal stage - some of the fat is absorbed.

The cheeks, tear troughs, temples, folds, the facial oval and lips, as well as the hands and selected areas of the body. The fat additionally improves skin quality thanks to the regenerative cells it contains.
Will my fat definitely take?
On average 50-70% of the administered volume takes - which is why it is slightly corrected with an excess or a supplementary stage is planned. A stable body weight after the treatment favours the durability of the effect.
What are the contraindications to lipofilling?
Among others, active infections, clotting disorders, uncompensated chronic diseases, pregnancy and too little fat tissue to harvest. Qualification is carried out by a doctor at the consultation.
Does weight affect the result of lipofilling?
Yes - the transferred fat behaves as it did in the harvesting site: with a large weight loss it loses volume, with weight gain it can increase it. A stable body weight gives the best results.

How to prepare?
You will receive all recommendations from us in writing. The most important rules:
- a full set of tests ordered at the consultation (blood count, coagulation)
- stop aspirin, anti-inflammatory medications and blood-thinning supplements 7 days before the treatment (in consultation with your doctor)
- do not smoke or drink alcohol for at least 2 weeks before and after the treatment - you will speed up healing
- on the day of the treatment: clean skin without creams or make-up, comfortable clothing that buttons up
- plan your return home with a companion and 1-2 days of rest
How does the procedure go?
With your own, purified fat tissue we restore volume to the face or body - a 100% biocompatible material.
Scars: scars planned in underwear lines / natural folds. An experienced anaesthesiologist oversees the course of the anaesthesia, and after the procedure you wake up under the care of the team - we will also ask about your well-being by phone the next day.
Recovery and recommendations
In the first days, swelling, bruising and a feeling of tightness are natural - they gradually subside within 1-2 weeks. You wear compression garments for 4-6 weeks, which supports tissue tightening. You will receive clear recommendations: wound and scar care, sleeping position, painkillers.
