It consists of excising a skin lesion - this may be a pigmented mole, a beauty spot, a wart or a small nodule. The indication may be both a suspicion of cancer and mechanical discomfort or aesthetic reasons. The removed lesion can be sent for histopathological examination - at the patient’s request or if the doctor makes such a decision.
The procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, under local anaesthesia, and the patient goes home the same day. An appropriately planned incision line - made in accordance with the skin tension lines - means that the scar is thin and inconspicuous once healed.

Contraindications
How to prepare for the procedure?

As standard, we order a full set of tests (blood count, coagulation, electrolytes, ECG for general anaesthesia) and, if necessary, additional specialist consultations.

Recovery and post-procedure recommendations
- Slight swelling or redness may occur - they usually subside after 2-3 days
- Sleeping with the head elevated is recommended for the first few days
- We remove the sutures after 7-14 days - depending on the location and skin type
- The scar should be protected from the sun for a minimum of 6 months
- After complete healing we introduce scar massages and recommended products supporting its maturation
- We limit physical exertion for 2-3 days after the procedure, and for lesions on the limbs - up to 7 days
- Check-ups: suture removal (7-14 days), scar check (1 and 3 months)
Treatment effects
The result of the procedure is complete removal of the skin lesion together with a certain histopathological diagnosis. The scar, initially pink, matures over 6-12 months, gradually fading - with proper care (silicone products, sun protection) it becomes thin and barely noticeable.
