Recovery and post-procedure recommendations
- Swelling and bruising are natural and diminish within 2-4 weeks
- Sleeping with the head elevated is recommended for the first few days
- Dressings and sutures cared for according to the doctor’s recommendations
- Sutures are usually removed after 7-14 days
- Avoiding intense physical exertion and bending over for a minimum of 4-6 weeks
- No sunbathing or use of a solarium for a minimum of 6 months - SPF 50 protection is necessary
- After full healing, scar massages and products supporting their maturation may be introduced - according to the doctor’s recommendation
- Check-ups: about 1 month after the procedure, then after 3, 6 and 12 months
Treatment effects
The result of facial lipofilling is restored, youthful fullness of the cheeks and temples, filled tear troughs and shallower folds - the face regains a rested, fresh appearance with no signs of intervention. The part of the graft that takes (60-80%) remains permanently; the effect stabilises after about 3 months.
A facelift significantly improves the jawline and neck contour, reduces skin sagging and deepened folds, giving a younger, fresh yet natural appearance. The effect lasts an average of 8-12 years. Skin ageing will continue, but the face looks much younger than without the procedure. Possible complications and risks

No - we perform facial lipofilling under local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia, depending on the scope. After the procedure the discomfort is minimal and controlled with medication.
Will the scars be visible?
No - the fat is administered with thin cannulas through 1-2 mm punctures hidden in the natural creases of the skin. The marks are practically invisible.
Where is the fat for the transfer taken from?
Most often from the abdomen, flanks or thighs - with gentle liposuction that also models the donor site. We discuss the donor area at the consultation.
How long does recovery take?
Swelling and any bruising usually subside within 7-14 days; a discreet swelling may persist a little longer.
When can I return to work?
Usually after 5-7 days, once the main swelling subsides; with remote work often earlier.
Is the effect permanent?
Yes - the fat cells that take (usually 50-70% of the administered volume) remain permanently. This is why we sometimes plan a second, complementary stage.
When will I see the final result?
After about 3 months, when the graft stabilises and the swelling subsides. The initial excess volume is intentional - some of the fat is physiologically absorbed.
How does lipofilling differ from hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is absorbed within 12-18 months and requires repetition; transferred fat that has taken remains permanently and additionally improves skin quality thanks to the regenerative-cell fraction.
Is the effect of facial lipofilling reversible?
The graft is permanent - which is why we administer the fat conservatively, in small portions. If needed, the volume can be topped up at a subsequent procedure.
