Arm and upper-chest lipofilling is a procedure of transferring the patient’s own fat tissue to soften masculine body features and give the figure a feminine harmony.
In transgender people (MtF) this procedure can complement hormone therapy and surgical gender correction - it can support feminisation of the shoulder girdle and the filling of tissues above the breasts, which visually improves the proportions of the chest and the line of the arms. It is a subtle, natural and biocompatible procedure.
Fat harvested from areas of excess (abdomen, flanks, thighs) is purified and administered in layers into the deltoid and chest areas - along the natural outline of the muscles, giving an athletic yet fully natural effect without implants.

How to prepare for the procedure?

As standard, we order a full set of tests (blood count, coagulation, electrolytes, ECG for general anaesthesia) and, if necessary, additional specialist consultations.

Recovery and post-procedure recommendations
- Swelling, tenderness and bruising may persist for 2-3 weeks
- The fat-harvesting and injection sites should be protected and covered with a dressing
- Dressings and sutures cared for according to the doctor’s recommendations
- We recommend wearing compression garments for 4-6 weeks (fitted at the clinic)
- Avoiding intense physical exertion and bending over for a minimum of 4-6 weeks
- No sunbathing or use of a solarium for a minimum of 6 months - SPF 50 protection is necessary
- The fat is not 100% viable - part may be absorbed (up to 30-40%)
- Check-ups: after 7 days, then after 1, 3 and 6 months
Treatment effects
The result of arm and chest lipofilling is a fuller, more athletic outline of the shoulders and chest with simultaneous slimming of the fat-harvest areas. The part of the graft that takes (60-80%) remains permanently; the effect stabilises after about 3 months and can be topped up if needed.
Possible complications and risks

Is the procedure safe?
Yes. The patient’s own fat tissue is a biocompatible material, and the procedure is performed by an experienced surgeon under sterile conditions.
Won’t the fat be completely absorbed?
Part of the transferred tissue undergoes natural resorption - usually 30-40%. That is why we plan the procedure with a slight overcorrection.
Can this replace breast implants?
No. Lipofilling can subtly improve the breast contour, but it does not replace augmentation with implants if the patient expects a large increase.
Does the procedure leave scars?
No. The micro-incisions made during liposuction and the transfer are small and almost invisible after healing.
When can I return to work?
Usually after 5-7 days for office work. In the case of intense physical activity - about 3-4 weeks.
Is the effect permanent?
Yes, for the fat that survives. Lifestyle, weight fluctuations and hormones can, however, affect the final result.
Does it hurt?
Slightly. The discomfort is comparable to muscle soreness and subsides within a few days.
Can I combine this procedure with another?
Yes. We often combine lipofilling with breast augmentation, feminising body contouring or waist contouring.
Do I need a lot of fat?
A small reserve in the abdomen, hips or thighs is usually enough. If needed, two sessions are possible.
Does the procedure affect hormone therapy?
No. The procedure does not interfere with hormone treatment, but it is best performed after a minimum of 6 months of therapy, when the tissues have already partly transformed.
Can lipofilling replace strength training?
It does not replace it but complements it perfectly - it emphasises the muscle outline where genetics or proportions limit the effects of training. Physical activity additionally improves the overall result.
Can the procedure be repeated for a greater effect?
Yes - we usually plan another administration after about 6 months, when the volume of the first graft is already stable.
