Visible capillaries are a common aesthetic problem. At Luna Clinic we use modern capillary-closing treatments for healthy, smooth skin.
Indications
Broken capillaries on the face, especially around the nose, cheeks and chin, are an indication for treatment. Visible “spider veins” can be the result of genetics, skin hypersensitivity or exposure to external factors such as the sun. Laser therapy or IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments effectively reduce the visibility of capillaries and improve the skin’s appearance.
Broken capillaries on the legs, often caused by prolonged standing, pregnancy or genetic predispositions, are an indication for treatments such as sclerotherapy or vascular laser therapy. These treatments help close the capillaries, improving the skin’s aesthetics and preventing further development of the problem.
Patients with rosacea who have visible capillaries against a background of erythema can benefit from therapies that eliminate their visibility. Treatment with a laser or IPL reduces redness and the visibility of small blood vessels, improving the appearance and comfort of the skin.
Sensitive skin, susceptible to factors such as temperature changes, wind or strong cosmetics, often leads to the formation of visible capillaries. Capillary-closing treatments, combined with appropriate care, help strengthen the epidermal barrier and improve the skin’s aesthetics. Regular dermatological consultations make it possible to prevent recurrences of the problem.
Przyczyny
Broken capillaries, also known as telangiectasias, arise as a result of weakening of the blood-vessel walls, which leads to their dilation and appearance on the skin surface. The cause may be genetic predispositions, hormonal changes, prolonged sun exposure, low temperatures or improper skin care. Their formation is also contributed to by internal factors such as hypertension, an improper diet or excessive alcohol consumption.
Metody leczenia
The treatment of telangiectasias includes a variety of procedures that effectively reduce the visibility of capillaries. Laser therapy and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) treatments are most often chosen, because they precisely close the blood vessels without damaging the surrounding skin. Alternatively, electrocoagulation is used, which consists in closing the vessels with a current. In some cases, the dermatologist may also recommend specialist creams or serums that strengthen the capillaries.
Prevention and skin care
To prevent the formation of new broken capillaries, one should avoid factors that favour their dilation, such as intense sun, the sauna or hot baths. In daily care it is worth using gentle cosmetics designed for capillary-prone skin, which strengthen the vessel walls and soothe irritation. Regular use of high-SPF creams and avoiding products with alcohol or acids, which can weaken the skin, are also essential. Regular visits to the dermatologist help monitor the skin’s condition and implement appropriate treatment methods.
Frequently asked questions
Where do broken capillaries on the face come from?
Dilated capillaries are the result of weakened vessel walls - they are favoured by genetics, capillary-prone skin, sun, frost, alcohol, the sauna, as well as rosacea and hormonal changes.
How do you remove broken capillaries?
We use vascular laser therapy and IPL - light absorbed by haemoglobin closes the capillary, which is then absorbed by the body. We match the method to the type and depth of the lesions.
Czy zamykanie naczynek boli?
The treatment causes brief pricks and a feeling of warmth; if necessary we apply a local anaesthetic cream and skin cooling. Most patients tolerate the treatment well without anaesthesia.
How many treatments are needed to close the capillaries?
Single capillaries often disappear after 1-2 treatments; more extensive lesions and erythema require a series of 3-4 sessions at 4-6-week intervals.
When is the best time to have treatments for capillaries?
In the autumn-winter period, when sun exposure is lowest. After the treatment the skin requires strict sun protection for a minimum of 4 weeks.
How to prepare for a laser treatment?
For 4 weeks before the treatment avoid tanning and self-tanners, stop retinoids for a few days, and on the day of the treatment come without make-up. The doctor will assess the skin and rule out contraindications.
What are the recommendations after capillary closing?
For a few days avoid the sauna, intense exertion, hot baths and alcohol; use SPF 50 and gentle care. Temporary redness or small scabs are a normal reaction.
Can the capillaries return after the treatment?
A closed capillary does not regain patency, but the tendency to form new ones remains. Prevention - photoprotection and strengthening of the vessels - limits recurrences; it is worth having a maintenance treatment from time to time.
Czy laseroterapia jest bezpieczna dla cery naczynkowej?
Yes - it is the method of choice for capillary-prone skin. We select the laser parameters individually, and proper cooling protects the epidermis from damage.
Does the treatment also remove erythema and telangiectasias in rosacea?
Yes - vascular laser therapy reduces erythema and visible capillaries that are a symptom of rosacea. We then combine the treatment with dermatological therapy of the underlying disease.
Are there marks or scars after the treatment?
A properly performed treatment leaves no scars. Temporary redness, swelling or minor discolouration may occur, which subsides within a few days to weeks.
Ile kosztuje zamykanie naczynek we Wrocławiu?
The price depends on the extent of the lesions and the number of sessions needed. We present a quote after examining the skin at a consultation; you will find indicative prices in the Luna Clinic price list.
Contraindications
A consultation has no significant contraindications. Any limitations concern selected treatment methods (e.g. laser vs. a tan, isotretinoin vs. pregnancy) - we will discuss them once a diagnosis is established.
How to prepare?
It is worth bringing to the visit:
- a list of medications and supplements taken
- existing documentation and test results
- a list of questions - nothing should slip your mind
- for skin lesions: do not cover them with make-up or irritate them before the visit
How does the procedure go?
We close the capillaries with a laser or electrocoagulation; a series of 2-4 treatments every 3-4 weeks is usually needed.
Recovery and recommendations
Diagnostic visits require no recovery. For treatments (e.g. laser) you will receive brief recommendations: sun protection, gentle care and avoiding high temperatures for a few days.
Effects - when and for how long?
Effect: gradual fading of the capillaries after each treatment.

What does broken-capillary treatment involve?
Broken capillaries is a procedure in the field of dermatology. At Luna Clinic, every treatment plan is created individually - we start with a thorough consultation and qualification, during which the doctor discusses expectations, assesses the starting situation and selects the scope and technique of the procedure. Thanks to this, broken-capillary treatment is safe, predictable and tailored to the anatomy and real needs of the specific person. We focus on a natural rather than artificial effect - so that the result emphasises individual beauty and remains in harmony with the rest of the figure or facial features. You will find a full, detailed description of the method in the upper part of this page.
broken-capillary treatment - who is it for? Indications and qualification
The best way to answer whether broken-capillary treatment is advisable in your case is during a consultation. The doctor always decides on qualification after an examination - we take into account the state of health, expectations and the real possibilities of the given method. If the procedure is not needed or safe at the moment, we will say so directly and suggest a sensible alternative. Such an honest conversation is the basis of a good decision and satisfaction with the result - which is why we never persuade anyone into unnecessary procedures.
How does the procedure go?
The course is planned to take maximum care of your comfort and safety. We work in comfortable conditions that meet all standards, and an experienced team oversees the process. All recommendations - preparation, contraindications and post-procedure conduct - are discussed individually and also provided in writing, so that broken-capillary treatment proceeds calmly, predictably and without surprises.
Effects and durability - broken-capillary treatment before and after
The effects that broken-capillary treatment provides are always assessed individually. A natural, harmonious refreshment of appearance or an improvement of proportions is the goal we strive for with every patient. “Before and after” transformations are best viewed in our results gallery - they show the real outcomes of our work. Remember that the durability and quality of the effect are also influenced by lifestyle, care and consistent adherence to post-procedure recommendations.
Recovery and post-procedure recommendations
Recovery goes most smoothly when you follow the recommendations closely. After the procedure you remain under the clinic’s care - in the first days, contact with a doctor is available, and we schedule follow-up visits until full healing and assessment of the effect. You receive clear instructions on care, activity and any supporting products in writing, so you know exactly what to expect at each stage of returning to form.
