Pain treatment at Luna Clinic combines modern therapies that relieve complaints and improve patients’ comfort of life at every stage of the illness.

01
About the treatment

What does pain treatment involve?

Pain treatment at Luna Clinic is an interdisciplinary approach to acute and chronic pain of the musculoskeletal system. We combine modern methods - blocks, intra-articular injections, pharmacotherapy and manual therapy - selected individually according to the cause of the complaint. The aim is not only to relieve pain quickly, but also to remove its source and permanently restore function.

02
Indications

Indications

It is particularly indicated for people with chronic complaints in the spine area, such as lumbar, thoracic or cervical pain. The therapy aims to relieve muscle tension, improve joint function and reduce inflammation. Regular sessions help restore comfort and improve quality of life.

Pain treatment includes the therapy of trigger points and myofascial tension that cause discomfort and movement restrictions. With appropriate manual or instrument techniques, tension can be reduced and tissue elasticity restored. The result is pain relief and improved mobility.

People with joint pain resulting from overload, injuries or degenerative diseases can benefit from pain treatment. Therapy aimed at relieving the joint, improving its stabilisation and regenerating tissues reduces pain and improves movement. It is an ideal solution for people suffering from knee, hip or shoulder pain.

Pain treatment is used in cases of neuropathic complaints such as sciatica, neuralgia or peripheral nerve dysfunction. Therapy aimed at reducing pressure on the nerves and improving their conduction brings relief to patients. This allows the gradual restoration of motor function and the reduction of pain.

Frequently asked questions

What does pain treatment in manual therapy involve?

The therapist combines soft-tissue techniques, joint mobilisations and exercises to remove the source of the complaint - tension, restricted mobility and overload - rather than merely masking the pain.

Which pain conditions do you treat?

Lumbar, thoracic and cervical spine pain, tension headaches, sciatica and brachial neuralgia, joint pain, sports and occupational overload, and stress-related tension.

How long does a therapy session last and how quickly will I feel relief?

A session usually lasts 45-60 minutes. Most patients feel noticeable relief after just 1-3 sessions, although a lasting effect usually requires a series and home exercises.

How many treatments are needed to get rid of the pain?

For recent complaints usually 3-5 sessions, for chronic ones 6-10 at decreasing frequency. We set the plan after the first diagnostic visit and modify it along the way.

Does manual therapy hurt?

Some techniques working on tense tissues can be momentarily unpleasant, but the therapy is conducted within the patient’s tolerance. After the session, 1-2 days of tenderness is possible, followed by relief.

Do I need a referral or tests?

A referral is not required. If you have imaging (X-ray, MRI) or treatment records, bring them - they will help with functional diagnostics and therapy planning.

When does pain require a medical consultation rather than therapy?

With pain after an injury, with fever, sudden paresis, sensory disturbances or weight loss - a medical diagnosis comes first. We cooperate with the Luna Clinic orthopedist and will refer you further if needed.

How does manual therapy differ from massage?

Massage mainly relaxes the muscles; manual therapy is targeted work - it includes functional diagnostics, joint mobilisations and neuromobilisation techniques, matched to the cause of the pain.

How to prepare for the visit?

Come in comfortable clothing that allows the treated area to be exposed, after a light meal. Prepare information about the nature of the pain: how long it has lasted, what aggravates and relieves it.

What to do between sessions so that the pain does not return?

Do the recommended exercises, take care of work ergonomics and activity. You will receive simple home guidance - it is what consolidates the therapy effect and prevents recurrences.

Is pain treatment combined with other treatments at the clinic?

Yes - we cooperate with orthopedics (injections, blocks) and surgery at Luna Clinic; manual therapy is sometimes also a preparation for procedures and support for recovery.

How much does pain-treatment therapy cost in Wrocław?

The price depends on the session time and scope of therapy. You will find current prices in the Luna Clinic price list; we treat the first visit with diagnostics as the foundation of the treatment plan.

07

Contraindications

fever and acute infection
unhealed wounds in the treated area
thrombosis and uncompensated cardiovascular diseases
an active cancer (the consent of the treating physician is required)
08
Preparation

How to prepare?

You do not need any special preparation - comfortable clothing is enough. Bring your medical records (discharge notes, imaging) if the therapy concerns recovery after surgery or injury.

09
Course of the procedure

How does the procedure go?

The therapy is conducted by an experienced physiotherapist cooperating with the clinic’s surgical team.

10
Recovery

Recovery and recommendations

After the session you may feel a pleasant relaxation or temporary “soreness” of the worked tissues - this is natural and passes within 48 hours. The therapist will give you simple exercises and recommendations for home.

What does pain treatment involve?

Pain treatment is a procedure in the field of manual therapy. At Luna Clinic, every treatment plan is created individually - we start with a thorough consultation and qualification, during which the doctor discusses expectations, assesses the starting situation and selects the scope and technique of the procedure. Thanks to this, pain treatment is safe, predictable and tailored to the anatomy and real needs of the specific person. We focus on a natural rather than artificial effect - so that the result emphasises individual beauty and remains in harmony with the rest of the figure or facial features. You will find a full, detailed description of the method in the upper part of this page.

pain treatment - who is it for? Indications and qualification

The best way to answer whether pain treatment is advisable in your case is during a consultation. The doctor always decides on qualification after an examination - we take into account the state of health, expectations and the real possibilities of the given method. If the procedure is not needed or safe at the moment, we will say so directly and suggest a sensible alternative. Such an honest conversation is the basis of a good decision and satisfaction with the result - which is why we never persuade anyone into unnecessary procedures.

How does the procedure go?

The course is planned to take maximum care of your comfort and safety. We work in comfortable conditions that meet all standards, and an experienced team oversees the process. All recommendations - preparation, contraindications and post-procedure conduct - are discussed individually and also provided in writing, so that pain treatment proceeds calmly, predictably and without surprises.

Effects and durability - pain treatment before and after

The effects that pain treatment provides are always assessed individually. A natural, harmonious refreshment of appearance or an improvement of proportions is the goal we strive for with every patient. “Before and after” transformations are best viewed in our results gallery - they show the real outcomes of our work. Remember that the durability and quality of the effect are also influenced by lifestyle, care and consistent adherence to post-procedure recommendations.

Recovery and post-procedure recommendations

Recovery goes most smoothly when you follow the recommendations closely. After the procedure you remain under the clinic’s care - in the first days, contact with a doctor is available, and we schedule follow-up visits until full healing and assessment of the effect. You receive clear instructions on care, activity and any supporting products in writing, so you know exactly what to expect at each stage of returning to form.

Safety, experience and trust

Safety is an absolute priority for us. Pain treatment is performed by Ilona Zalewska - a certified manual therapist and cosmetologist, with care for safety and an individual approach to the patient. Careful qualification, work in appropriate conditions and the team’s experience allow us to minimise risk and achieve repeatable, aesthetic results. In the field of manual therapy, not only technique matters, but also aesthetic sense and trust between patient and doctor - and that is exactly what we build Luna Clinic on every day.

Why Luna Clinic?

Luna Clinic is an intimate, boutique clinic where not only the result matters, but also comfort, discretion and a sense of safety. We carry out pain treatment with attention to every detail - from the first conversation, through the procedure itself, to post-procedure care. Patients choose us for the experience of our specialists, the individual approach and the natural, harmonious results. It matters to us that every person feels heard and well informed, which is why we present the real possibilities and limitations of the given method and choose the best solution together.

How to prepare for the procedure?

Good preparation translates directly into the course and the effect. Before pain treatment we conduct a qualification consultation, order tests if necessary and discuss the recommendations in detail - including which agents, stimulants or activities to avoid in the days preceding the procedure. You receive all the guidance clearly and in writing, and our team remains available should any additional questions arise. We always tailor the preparation plan individually, because every situation and every patient is different.
